Duck! Watch out up above!
The reed beds towards Istuzu Beach is a Place of Natural Beauty famous for its wildlife and prolific bird population. You will see some wonderful sights all over Dalyan - from Villa Aslam to the mountains. Make sure you take the field binoculars with you in the Villa.
Little Owls
We have 3 Little Owls (One parent and 2 fledglings) that you can see every evening at Villa Aslam. They come out at dusk and announce their arrival with a squawk!

Spot The Difference
It can be difficult to tell the difference between a heron, egret, stork and a crane. You will see all of them around the villa or in the reeds on the way to the beach. See if you can tell the difference.

Hawks and Raptors
There are loads of Marsh Harriers in the reed beds. You can see them finding the thermals or hunting for little beasties. If you are really lucky, you might see a short-toed snake eagle (right). You can see them in the hills on the other side of the river. Guess what they eat?

The Jewel in the Crown
If you are really careful and watchful, you could see the kingfishers. They usually appear as bright blue streaks above the waterline. Quite beautiful.
